Teeth Brushing Habits as a form of "BERAKSI SEHATI" Implementation in Kindergarten and Elementary School Children

Abstract
Background: Teeth are one of the most important parts of the body, the mouth has the function of eating and speaking. The importance of basic tooth brushing skills that every human being must have to maintain the health of their oral cavity. Providing education on brushing teeth aims to apply the principles of disease prevention in relation to health and safety in daily life for kindergarten and elementary school children.
Aims: Education on brushing teeth aims to apply the principles of disease prevention in relation to health and safety in everyday life for kindergarten and elementary school children.
Methods: The method for implementing this activity is through community service using a participatory approach. This approach involves active and collaborative participation from the community who are the subject of service. The subjects or participants in the activity were groups of kindergarten and elementary school children in Padukuhan Sengon Karang.
Results: After being implemented, namely how to brush teeth, there is an increase in the ability to brush the teeth of participants. In terms of knowledge, students are able to answer questions verbally related to dental and oral health, as well as the correct way to brush teeth.
Conclucion: Positive results from socialization and demonstration activities regarding dental and oral health for kindergarten and elementary school children in Padukuhan Sengon Karang were in the form of positive responses for students in enthusiastic practice and questions and answers regarding dental and oral health. This activity is a small part that must be continued and developed by involving wider participation from the community and policy makers.
