Health Education: Making MPASI for Toddlers through The “GENTING” Program (Gerakan Cegah Stunting)

Abstract
Background: The nutritional needs of toddlers is a very important factor because it directly influences the growth and development of toddlers. Adequate nutritional needs are obtained from food consumed from infancy because during this period growth and development occurs very quickly. As babies get older, their nutritional needs will increase. Entering the age of 6 months and above, babies need several important nutritional elements because breast milk (ASI) is no longer sufficient. Therefore, after the age of 6 months to the age of 24 months. MPASI is different from weaning food which is given when the baby no longer consumes breast milk. The role of MPASI is not to replace breast milk at all, but as a complement to breast milk. Breast milk must still be given to babies, at least until the age of 24 months.
Aims: To provide health counseling about the GENTING (Gerakan Cegah Stunting) program and a demonstration of making MPASI.
Methods: This research used a quasi-experimental design with a one group pre post without control group with a sample size of 20 mothers of toddlers in Padukuhan Sengon Karang Argomulyo.
Results: The results of the pre-test knowledge of 20 mothers of toddlers before they were given counseling on the Movement to Prevent Stunting, there were 13 mothers of toddlers or 65% with less knowledge and after the counseling was given, the mother's knowledge increased to 100%. All mothers of toddlers have good knowledge.
Conclucion: There was an increase in knowledge among mothers of toddlers before and after health education was carried out. The pre-test results showed that there were 13 mothers of toddlers or around 65% with less knowledge and after counseling, the knowledge of mothers of toddlers increased to 100%. All mothers of toddlers have good knowledge.
